FAQ

Do children have to be potty-trained to attend?
Yes, while we accept children as young as 2 ½ years old they must be completely potty-trained.

Is Montessori religious-based?
No, Montessori is not religious-based. The Montessori philosophy is named for Maria Montessori, an Italian doctor and educator. She based her philosophy on her observations of children and the way they learn. She discovered that children can learn independently when given the opportunity to make their own choices within a well-prepared environment of materials that are developmentally appropriate.

How is a Montessori classroom different than a traditional preschool classroom?
In a Montessori classroom the children move freely throughout the space making their own choices about the activities the want to do. The classroom is prepared for children ages 3-6 years old and allows for children to explore freely. Most lessons given to children by teachers are individual lessons. Each child is working at his/her own pace and the activities strengthen a child’s ability to concentrate, aid in his/her coordination, and lead to a love of learning.
